Mother and florist. A wonderful and at the same time sweet and sour tandem. For as long as I can remember, Mother’s Day has always been related to flowers. Today I am talking about Mother’s Day and flowers.
When I was little, my mother had to work every Mother’s Day and she always told us: “Now I’m going to prepare bouquets for other mothers. In the afternoon we celebrate it ourselves. It’s my turn to make those other mothers happy because their sons or daughters are going to tell them that they love them very much”.
She, my mother, has always been at the top of her game on Mother’s Day and for me it has always been related to work and flowers. But, besides, destiny had it in store for me to be a mother and have a flower shop, my daughter has relived my childhood (with a mother always busy on Mother’s Day, making bouquets for the other mothers).
From a sentimental point of view it is incredible that duplicity or contradiction in feelings. That missing being able to spend a day off with your daughter but at the same time feeling fulfilled because you are making other mothers happy and enjoying a moment they will never forget.
Receiving flowers can’t be compared to anything else… And there are many gifts that we receive in our lives, but we never forget when we have received flowers.
They are the best way to say “I love you”. Happy Mother’s Day!
